San Pedro de Atacama, small town with a population of
2500 people. Located in one of the high plane oasis
of the second region of Antofagasta, northern part of
Chile. Next to the Andes, 98 Km. Away from Calama and
with an altitude of 2438m, also it is located close
to the Bolivian and Argentinean borders. Cradle of one
of the most ancient cultures in Chile, The Atacamenian
Culture, San Pedro is the county capitol and next to
the biggest river that runs straight to the Salt Lake.
This town is also considered the Archeological Capitol
of Chile and was declared Typical Zone.
