After greeting
the father sun, we will continue on to a luscious
valley to visit a lovely village located at 3200
maters, Caspana. In this pre - Columbian village
we will see the millenary way of life of man and
women of Los Andes. It is possible to walk to
the old village to visit the old church and the
belfry, and also to know more about the history
visiting the millenary “Gentilar”
cementery and the small but interesting museum,
as well as some shops where typical handcraft
is sold.
When we leave the village the extent of the desert
is impressive, we confront the driest desert in
the world. In the middle of this loneliness is
the Inca Coya lagoon, a few kilometers before
Chiu Chiu. This village survives due to the Loa
River, the longest in Chile. We find here one
the oldest churches in Chile, and one of the most
beautiful landscapes. Going on through the Lasana
canyon we will find hundreds of rock art, testimonies
of the Andean life. We finally find the Pukara
de Lasana, fortress similar to the Pukara de Quitor.
